Skin Rejuvenation treatments offer a solution for all the visible signs of ageing caused by sun damage, such as brown spots (pigmentation), redness (thread veins) and uneven skin texture, lines and wrinkles. Precisely controlled short pulses of light are released that target discolouration (brown and red lesions) to create a more youthful, even complexion. In addition, this light results in the stimulation of the fibroblast cells, leading to increased production of new collagen and elastin. This improves the texture of the skin, evening out lumps and bumps whilst reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The skin will also become firmer, tighter and the appearance of scarring can be reduced.
Red Vein Removal
We can provide a long term solution to facial problems such as red flushing (Rosacea), thread veins and red spots in just a few quick and easy treatments. Light energy is applied to the skin where it is readily absorbed by blood vessels, heating them to a point where they are destroyed. Following treatment, the vessels quickly clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion. The light applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The applicator is moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated. During treatment, protective eyewear will be provided. Treatment is suitable for most people. Best results are obtained for those with fair skin and there is less chance of side effects.
Pigmented lesions such as sun spots and freckles can be successfully removed creating a more flawless, youthful and glowing appearance. Light is released in short pulses that are readily absorbed by the high concentration of melanin found within pigmented lesions. The rapid absorption of light energy heats the melanin and causes the destruction of the melanin-rich cells. Most people are suitable for treatment except for very dark skinned or tanned individuals. However, large, dark, mottled or raised pigmentation cannot be treated and may need to be checked by a dermatologist. Large, dark moles should not be treated, nor should lesions covering a large part of the body. The pigmented marks that respond the best are superficial lesions such as those caused by sun damage (sun spots) and freckles. Most patients describe the discomfort as mild and tolerable and no anaesthesia is required. The treated area may feel warm and sensitive for the first few days post treatment. The lesions may darken and may appear more obvious before they fade and ‘flake’ away. Sometimes an initial whitening of the area is seen which quickly fades and the pigment gradually fades over the following few weeks. Are there any side effects? The skin that surrounds the pigmented lesion may become red immediately after treatment. Most people experience no other side effects and the redness usually disappears within hours to a few days. Very rarely a small blister may form or the skin may become temporarily lighter or darker. A typical session will take 10 to 30 minutes.
Typically, most people associate acne with teenage years however acne is a complex condition that can manifest at any age and needs to be treated on an individual basis. No two cases are the same and so each case needs to be managed differently. Acne is also a common to both men and women and can develop at any age as a result of a number of factors such as stress, environmental conditions, reaction to food or medication, trauma and hormone imbalances. Acne can occur as a result of puberty or the menopause and so a comprehensive analysis of each patient is recommended to really get to the root cause of the acne outbreaks. The good news is, we can treat it.

Wrinkles best suited to this treatment are those caused by muscle use, i.e. expression wrinkles. Wrinkles between the eyebrows, horizontal wrinkles of the forehead and wrinkles around the eyes can all be treated with Botox injections. It normally only takes a few minutes to administer the anti-wrinkle injections and as the needles used are very fine, it is not usually painful. Botox injections are administered by our professional staff who are experts in facial anatomy. The benefits of the treatment depend on their skill to treat the correct muscles. At Seafield you can rest assured that any treatment you receive are the most suitable for your skin and a full consultation will be carried out before any treatment begins. You will be informed about other benefits of botox and our staff will be available to answer any questions you might have.
The vast majority of facial skin cancers can be cured if diagnosed and treated early.Initial evaluation includes a comprehensive health history and clinical examination. An initial biopsy may be required. A biopsy involves numbing the skin with a local anesthetic and removing a small part of the lesion. This is then sent for examination under the microscope. Results usually take at least five working days as the tissue has to have dyes added to it (sort of like pickling an onion) before the tissue can be examined under the microscope. A diagnosis can be given.Further treatment, if required, will depend on the place and size of the lesion, the age of the patient, cosmetic considerations, and the patient’s preferences. Lesions on facial skin are removed under local anaesthetic or general anaesthesia.
Derma Fillers are an injectable treatment that is designed to decrease the signs of aging. Fillers plump up skin sections and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Fillers can be used in the lips and cheeks and can help restore volume to give the skin fresher, more youthful appearance. Fillers soften lines, raise scar depressions and give the skin a smoother look. They are non permanent, are eventually absorbed by the body and so are ideal for those who prefer not to have permanent plastic surgery.
Facial cancers are cancers of the mouth cavity or face. Carcinomas may appear as flat reddish or brownish patches in the skin, often with a rough, scaly or crusted surface. They tend to grow slowly and usually occur on sun-exposed areas of the body, such as the face, ears, neck, lips, and backs of the hands. Skin cancer may appear as a firm red nodule, a scaly growth that bleeds or develops a crust, or a sore that doesn’t heal. It most often occurs on the nose, forehead, ears, lower lip, hands, and other sun-exposed areas of the body. These cancers are curable if caught and treated early.
