Dr. Aisling O'Mahony
Consultant MA, BDentSc, FDS(RCSI), MS (Pros), DDS.
Aisling graduated as a dentist from the Dublin Dental School and Hospital, Trinity College Dublin in 1989. She worked for several years in the Dublin Dental School and Hospital and then in private practice in Dublin. In 1993 she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, FDS (RCSI). She then moved to the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry where she trained as a Prosthodontist receiving a MS in Oral Biology and Prosthodontics, and a DDS from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. O’Mahony pursued an academic career and was tenured as an Associate Professor in 2002 and returned to Ireland to take up a position as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry (Prosthodontics) at the National Maxillofacial Unit in St James’s Hospital. She has over 20 years experience working in multidisciplinary teams providing restorative dentistry for complex cases focusing primarily on patients with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies, head and neck cancer and trauma. These complex dental problems require a team approach for optimal results.
Hygienist RDH. Practice Manager at Seafield Dental & Aesthetics
Claire qualified as a Dental Hygienist from the Dublin Dental School and Hospital, Trinity College Dublin, in 1999 achieving First Class Honors with Distinction and a Dental Council Award for first in the class. She has over 14 years experience providing dental hygiene to periodontal patients (gum disease) and patients who have dental implants. Claire also has extensive experience in treating children and has lectured widely to adults and children on developing and maintaining excellent dental health for life. She joins our practice as a dental hygienist and practice manager. Claire has a detailed knowledge of complex dental rehabilitation and the importance of regular dental maintenance in the longevity of dental restorative work. Claire is very passionate about working at promoting and preventing gum disease which will further benefit her patients health. As both a clinician and a mother to young children she has a huge interest in dental decay prevention through excellent oral hygiene and more importantly diet advice. Claire’s motto is prevention is better than cure and this she feels is best done through listening and getting to know her patients first and then educating them on prevention.
Dr. Aoife Crotty
General Dentist BSc, BDS (Hons), MFD (RCSI)
Aoife qualified with an honours Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery from The University of Sheffield after having completed a BSc in Chemistry from University College Dublin. Dr Crotty completed the UK Foundation Training programme gaining great experience in primary care practices and family dentistry. Since returning to Dublin, she has been working part time as a Senior House Officer with Dr. Aisling O’ Mahony in the National Cleft and Maxillofacial Unit at St. James Hospital Dublin. Aoife has gained extensive experience in rehabilitative restorative dentistry, aesthetic dentistry, implants and oral surgery. During this time Dr Crotty was awarded membership of the Faculty of Dentistry by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and joined our team in early 2017. She has a strong interest in aesthetic and minimal invasive dentistry, being a member of the Irish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. Aoife has had a wide-range of training in the management of TMD and the provision of the Cerezen device as part of a holistic approach.
Dr. Sittana Ahmed
Mr. Padraig O’Ceallaigh
Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery MB, BAO, Bch, LRCPI&SI, BDent Sc, MRCS, FDS, FRCS (OMFS)
Padraig qualified in Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin in 1994. He subsequently studied Dentistry at Trinity College Dublin, where he qualified in 1999. He completed post-graduate surgical and dental training at Beaumont, St. James’s and James Connolly Hospitals. Following this, Mr. O’Ceallaigh undertook senior specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Wales, and completed his Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship with Jan Stanek at the West London Clinic. Currently, Mr. O’Ceallaigh is a Consultant at the National Oral & Maxillofacial Unit at St. James’s Hospital and Beaumont Hospital. He is an Honorary Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin. Mr. O’Ceallaigh is on the specialist register for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Ireland. His special interests include: wisdom teeth, dental implants, skin cancer, facial pain including trigeminal neuralgia, mouth and salivary gland disorders, oral cancer and facial aesthetics.
